Union Home Minister Amit Shah initiated a significant motorcycle rally from Vadnagar to Varanasi on Thursday as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyaan, marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public office. The event began in Vadnagar, Gujarat, Modi’s birthplace, coinciding with his 76th birthday.
The rally is one of two simultaneous motorcycle yatras under the campaign, with the second rally commencing from Varanasi to Vadnagar, flagged off by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Both rallies are designed to traverse multiple states and villages before their scheduled conclusion on October 7, the date marking Modi’s ascension as Gujarat’s chief minister in 2001.
Amit Shah emphasized that the campaign aims to showcase Prime Minister Modi’s extensive public service and introduce younger generations to his political journey. He noted that the BJP, along with its NDA allies, seeks to communicate the importance of this milestone to the broader Indian populace.
The rallies are expected to engage around 300 bikers each, who will caravan through various regions, highlighting the political and developmental narrative associated with Modi’s tenure. This initiative reflects an effort to engage with citizens across different demographics, underlining Modi’s impact on India’s political landscape over a quarter-century.
