Oman and India have reiterated their dedication to enhancing their strategic partnership, emphasizing key areas such as trade, investment, energy, logistics, and emerging technologies. This commitment was underscored during a meeting on Friday in Muscat between Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, and India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar. The discussions highlighted the enduring relationship between the two nations and explored avenues to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

The ministers focused on fostering increased collaboration between businesses in both countries. They emphasized the importance of promoting high-quality investments and creating new economic opportunities that would be mutually beneficial. This renewed focus on economic ties aims to bolster the existing strong foundation of trade and investment between Oman and India.

Regional and international developments were also on the agenda, with particular attention paid to the security of maritime navigation through the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz. Both sides expressed concern over the impact of regional tensions on international trade, energy supplies, and global supply chains. The discussions underscored the significance of ensuring the security of key international shipping routes.

Oman and India highlighted the necessity for ongoing coordination and diplomatic consultations to support regional stability. They called for dialogue among all parties involved to reduce tensions in accordance with international law. This approach aims to foster a stable environment conducive to the continued free flow of commerce and energy resources, which are vital to the global economy.
